- Alipay: International tourists can use Alipay by downloading the App and linking their overseas credit cards (Add bank cards as shown below).Then you can pay by scanning a merchant's QR code (method 1) or by having a merchant scan yours (method 2).
- Bank Card: Some merchants in China accept bank cards, especially at international airports, hotels, large shopping malls, and major toursim attractions. Bank cards issued in your home coun-try/region can be accepted if logos of UnionPay, Visa, Mastercard and other payment organiza-tions are displayed at the checkout counter (see picture below). If not, please ask the cashier whether your bank card can be accepted. If you hold a UnionPay card, it can be accepted by all merchant POS terminals in China's mainland.
- WeChat Pay: International tourists can use WeChat Pay by downloading the Wechat and linking their overseas credit cards.
- Cash Exchange and Prepaid Cards: Major banks and airports in Hangzhou offer foreign curren-cy exchange services, where tourists can exchange for RMB cash or purchase prepaid cards.
- ApplePay is accepted by some vendors. GooglePay is not accessible in China.
- Built-in transportation services of Alipay and WeChat: If you have downloaded Alipay/WeChat and linked a bank card, you can directly take a ride-hailing service by clicking on the transporta-tion service.
- Using mainstream ride-hailing Apps: Didi Chuxing (DiDi), AutoNavi Map (Amap), Baidu Map (Baidu Map), etc. (It can also be paid by Alipay or Wechat Pay)
- Hailing a taxi directly: In most cities you can find taxi on the roadside. It is recommended to prepare Alipay/WeChat Pay in advance or ask if cash is accepted.
