240-Hour Transit Visa Exemption
China currently grants a 240-hour transit visa exemption to nationals of 55 countries (24-hour transit visa exemption policy at all its open ports for nationals of all countries). Eligible travelers holding valid international travel documents and confirmed onward tickets to a third country or region may enter China without a visa through any of the 60 designated ports across 24 provinces. Nationals of 46 countries including Brunei, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Aus-tralia, Poland, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Den-mark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechten-stein, South Korea, Bulgaria, Romania, Cro-atia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain holding valid ordinary pass-ports can be exempted from visa require-ment if entering into China for the purpose of business, tourism, family or friends visits, exchange and transit. They can stay in China for no more than 30 days without visa.
